Our Story

For the past two years, Madison and Makayla Gulash have been talking about starting their own podcast — long before the microphones, the logo, and the recordings ever existed. What began as everyday conversations between sisters slowly turned into something bigger. They found themselves talking about life, identity, their experiences growing up neurodivergent, the challenges they faced, the things they wished more people understood, and the desire to create a space where no one would feel alone in their journey.

In those moments — in car rides, late-night talks, and shared laughter — the vision for Sisters on the Spectrum was born.

Madison and Makayla have walked similar paths in very different ways. One diagnosed early, the other later in life. One more quiet and reflective, the other expressive and full of energy. But through every stage of their lives, their bond as sisters has been the constant — a source of strength, understanding, and unconditional support.

Over time, they realized that the conversations they were having with each other were the same conversations so many others were searching for — real, honest, and unfiltered. They knew they wanted to turn those talks into something that could reach beyond their own lives and into a community.

Sisters on the Spectrum is the result of that two-year dream becoming reality.

It is a space built not just on information, but on lived experience. A place where laughter and deep conversations can exist in the same moment. A place where differences are not only accepted, but celebrated. A place where neurodivergent individuals, families, and allies can feel seen, heard, and understood.

This podcast is more than a project — it is their story, their growth, and their mission.

What started as a dream between two sisters has become a platform for connection, advocacy, creativity, and hope — and this is only the beginning.

Your Hosts

Meet Madison Gulash

Madison is the co-host of Sisters on the Spectrum, a digital media creator, college student at Pasco-Hernando State College, and a passionate advocate for neurodivergent understanding and acceptance. At 21 years old and preparing to graduate in Spring 2026, she is building a future that combines creativity, technology, and purpose. Diagnosed with autism at a young age, Madison brings a lifetime of lived experience, insight, and empathy to every conversation, along with the strength she has developed while navigating medical challenges, including living with seizures. These experiences have shaped her resilience and deepened her commitment to helping others feel seen, supported, and never alone.

From an early age, Madison discovered that creativity and technology were powerful tools for communication and self-expression. As a digital media student at PHSC, she is developing her skills in web design, visual storytelling, and emerging technologies while starting her own 3D animation business, Rainbow Graphic Nerd — a venture that reflects her vibrant imagination and her passion for creating inclusive digital spaces where individuality is celebrated.

On Sisters on the Spectrum, Madison is known for her thoughtful, calm, and insightful presence. Having been diagnosed young, she offers a perspective shaped by years of self-understanding, growth, and advocacy. She helps guide meaningful conversations about identity, sensory experiences, friendships, mental health, and the realities of growing up neurodivergent, always bringing authenticity and heart to the discussion.

Her journey with seizures has strengthened her belief in perseverance, self-advocacy, and the importance of community. Rather than allowing challenges to define her, she uses her story to create connection and to encourage others who may be facing their own invisible struggles.

Through her education, her 3D animation business Rainbow Graphic Nerd, and her voice on the podcast, Madison is dedicated to breaking stereotypes and showing that neurodivergent minds are powerful, creative, and innovative. She is building a path that not only reflects who she is, but also helps create opportunities for others to feel represented and empowered.

At her core, Madison is imaginative, resilient, compassionate, and quietly determined — a young woman turning her creativity into a platform for inclusion, advocacy, and meaningful change.

Meet Makayla Gulash

Makayla is the co-host of Sisters on the Spectrum, a performer, speaker, and creative spirit known by her stage name, DJ Night Mixer. At 18 years old and a senior in high school, she is already using her voice, her talent, and her story to make a powerful impact in the neurodivergent community. She brings energy, humor, and heart to the podcast — the natural jokester who keeps conversations real, uplifting, and full of life while still creating space for meaningful and honest moments.

Makayla’s journey is one of resilience and transformation. After receiving her autism diagnosis later than her sister, she began to understand her experiences in a new way — turning years of feeling different into a story of self-acceptance, confidence, and purpose. Today, she uses that perspective to connect with others who are discovering themselves and learning to embrace their identity.

From a young age, Makayla found her voice through the performing arts. Theatre, music, dance, and being on stage became the places where she could fully express herself and shine. Performing is more than something she loves — it is how she communicates, processes emotions, and builds connection with others.

Her passion for music led her to discover DJing, where DJ Night Mixer was born — a name that represents confidence, creativity, and freedom. Through DJing, she creates inclusive, high-energy spaces where people can celebrate who they are, feel joy, and experience the power of music to bring people together. What started as a creative outlet has grown into a platform for empowerment and self-expression.

On Sisters on the Spectrum, Makayla brings a bold, expressive, and deeply compassionate perspective. She speaks openly about late diagnosis, masking, identity, friendships, growth, and learning to love yourself without apology. Her humor and vibrant personality remind listeners that healing and laughter can exist in the same space — and that being different is something to celebrate.

Even while balancing life as a high school senior, Makayla is already building a future centered on creativity, performance, and advocacy. She is passionate about using her story to break stereotypes, uplift others, and show the world that neurodivergent individuals are strong, talented, and capable of incredible things.

At her core, Makayla is bold, joyful, expressive, and full of heart — a performer, a leader, and a light who encourages others to be confident in who they are and to never hide their shine.
